Woody Ginger

This fragrance was my absolute favorite last winter. In 3 months I ran the bottle dry because I used it every single day. Unfortunately it sold out before I could restock that winter, but this summer I nabbed some of the new stock, and boy, was I disappointed when the weather got cold enough to bring this back out.

What changed? Dossier completely stripped the performance of the base notes. It used to be that with only a couple small sprays, this fragrance would open bright and fresh, and over the course of a couple hours the dry down would transition nicely to a sweet, woody base. Now, 1 hour after a handful of strong sprays the scent is barely a whisper, not transitioning to a nice base, simply withering away.

If Tom Ford for men weren't discontinued and hard to find, I would 100% be buying the real thing now. Which is why this downgrade from Dossier is all the more dissapointing. What used to be a magnificient alternative for a beautiful scent has now become the singular sad option for those who still crave the scent.

Dossier, you had something good, why make it worse? I would gladly pay a slightly higher price for a quality frag than no longer have the option to get the quality scent.

This comes on fresh, bright, and spicy and mellows into sweet grapefruit and light woods. It lacks all day staying power and progresses quickly with warmth. This isn’t an issue as it’s light enough to be reapplied after a couple of hours with the top and base notes combining well at the second coat.
